Login with Logmein service on a Windows 7 host

The usage of Logmein – an amazing host remote control service – changed a bit under Windows 7. Instead of type in your usual login and password, on any hosts from your network installed with a different Windows (ex: Vista). Under Windows Seven (on the Ultimate x64 at least), you have to put, as a login ident, the complete hostname followed by a backslash and followed by the login name. The password remains unchanged, it’s the one related to the initial login.

Exemple:

  • Targeted computer name SweetHome
  • User name on this host Daddy

So, the complete login name to type in is SweetHome\Daddy

In action:

Logmein (Vista x86) Logmein under Windows Vista
Logmein (Seven x64) Logmein under Windows Seven
